What To Expect

The most important component of my process is finding out about you. From start to finish, we are going to spend some time getting to know each other to make sure we are creating the most meaningful experience for you. I want you and your guests to feel like you are in the hands of an old friend. I also want to gain your trust in my ability to guide you along this process so you can be relaxed and in the moment on your big day.

Here's the Process Start to Finish:

  • We meet for a free Zoom consultation where you'll tell me a mini version of your love story and I'll share more about me. We'll see if we click. If we don't, I will send you some reccommendations for other officiants.

  • When we decide to work together, I send two questionnaires. One to the both of you to give me a few more details about the ceremony like theme, colors, other vendors, special guests of honor. The other I send to you both individually so you can reflect a little more on your relationship and what you would like from your ceremony. If you are planning to write your own vows, this process often gives my couples a head start.

  • With completed questionnaires, we will schedule another Zoom meeting to go over your responses and ceremony preferences in more detail. We will start to lay out the ceremony experience from start to finish and you will begin to imagine it more clearly.

  • By a month before your ceremony date, I will send you a draft of your ceremony script. We can go back and forth getting it just right. You approve every word, no surprises on my end.

  • I prepare a Cue Sheet that can be shared with you and your vendor team so we are all on the same page about the flow of the ceremony and any important moments within it.

  • We can meet again on Zoom for one last check-in, especially if we will not be having a rehearsal.

  • I arrive 1 hour before the ceremony start time on your wedding day. I will check in with you and the other vendors to go over any last minute adjustments or needs and then I'll find a corner and do the paperwork ahead of time. I can also provide a grounding presence - you will not have to wonder where I am.

  • After the ceremony and the signing of the license, I will take care of mailing it off so you can enjoy the celebration with your family and friends worry free. I will also send you another email confirming that it was mailed and checking in on any post-ceremony questions you have.

  • At the ceremony, I will leave you a Keepsake copy of your ceremony, leaving in your decorative copy of the license. Some couples like to show this copy to loved ones who could not make it. Others like to revisit their ceremony on anniversaries.

This process outlined here encompasses about 20 hours of work. Therefore, the earlier you book, the better and I would recommend giving us at least 3 months to work together. Anything shorter than that will be dependent on my schedule.
